The Associates Home Loan of Florida, Inc. is excited to announce the winner of its annual scholarship.
This year’s $1,000 scholarship is being awarded to Ashley Dawn Griffith, a student at Labette Community College. She entered the scholarship by submitting a short essay to answer the question, “What does your dream house look like?”
“When I was younger, owning my own home was one of my biggest dreams. My family had always rented houses and never owned. Today, that is still one of my dreams, but the details have changed.” Ashley says in her essay. After describing the home she dreamed about as a child and the home she dreams about now as a mother, she concludes her essay by saying, “My dream home is somewhere I can keep my little girl happy and safe. That's all that matters to me.”
Associates Home Loan awards one scholarship annually to help students lower their tuition expenses. The scholarship application is open to high school students graduating within a year that have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school and to students currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school that have not yet reached their final year. Students can apply for future scholarship opportunities through the company’s website. The application deadline is March 31st each year.
